The Saxon State and University Library Dresden (SLUB) represents the transformation of modern educational institutions. Where silence once dominated, spaces for exchange and collaborative learning are now emerging. Together with Gabriel Bensch and Andrea Horezky from Bensch Horezky GbR, and based on an intensive user survey by Paulsberg, we had the privilege of helping to shape this transformation in the SLUB Forum.
The task: flexible spaces for diverse needs—without structural interventions, achieved solely through furnishing and bespoke built-in units. Inspired by a playing field where every discipline finds its place, materials and colors define clear zones for concentrated work and lively dialogue.
High-quality furniture groups, versatile sitting and standing options, and precisely crafted built-in units define the new Forum—a place that grows with its users and enables new forms of learning.
